About TrueCaller

TrueCaller is a Sweden-based global number lookup service founded in 2009. It is available as a free app for Mobile Platform and on the web also. When there is an UNKNOWN call on your phone TrueCaller browses its database and shows the caller details on the phone screen if it’s match is found.

The advantage of using crowdsourcing as a directory data source is that it can offer better phone number look ups in countries where there are no reliable directory services to partner with, the company says on its blog.

If you don’t want your number to be searchable in the Truecaller app, you can remove your Number from Truecaller database.
