I have been asked lot of times, and people often come to me saying i want to start a website or I had started a website but I am not able to drive revenue from it. So here are few things which you should know.

Ans:  People use google for searching information, you the website which you prepare should be a informative website, portal, blog or something like that, you may also prepare it with a good Idea.
Now if I see popular websites or the highest paid websites by google, i can see that all of them are informative blogs, but not blogs on blogspot.in they use wordpress, jhoomla, etc means open source tools only, but they are informative portals only.
But some of the websites are also there which like help people in things like downloading music, games, etc, some websites have idea of delivering some service like ONLINE PDF Converter, etc etc, So choice is yours but focus more on content and Search engine optimisation if you really wana work.
Even if your website is very good, excellent content or whatever, if you dont work on Search Engine Optimisation, no income is ever going to be generated. So work for SEO, thats the only key to success.
